HS (High Speed) FILMscreen

The new MOVIEtube HS FILMscreen has been developed to overcome the light loss encountered by film makers using the Class MOVIEtube FILMscreen in low light situations and is part of the patented static solution developed by Kinomatik. Developed for shooting in interior or exterior low light situations the MOVIEtube HS FILMscreen it self losses no light, any light loss is therefore dependant on your lens and camera used. Since all 1/3” chip cameras with fixed lenses stop down when zoomed into the MOVIEtube’s FILMscreen target area, only this light is lost, dependant on your camera this is usually just over 1 stop. This light loss is easily recaptured by adding 3 to 6 db gain (this light loss is the same for any 35 mm adaptor when zooming in). However when used with the SONY EX1 or EX3 camera no light is lost as the iris is manually operated.

Now when filming night time exteriors or using ambient light sources in interior situations a crisp 35 mm DoF (Depth of Field) image is achieved. MOVIEtube HS FILMscreen is available in either the MOVIEtube LT or ST models, thus making MOVIEtube HS the fastest mini 35 mm DoF adaptor available on the market today.

As with the Classic FILMscreen MOVIEtube LT & ST there are no moving parts, so all of the worries of shooting variable frame rates, noise, breakdown, over heating, power supply failure are all removed ( see previous page for explanation of the pitfalls of using GG ground glass).
